Chinese New Year 2018 – Year of the Dog

 

Today was Chinese New Year and we learnt about the different things Chinese people do to celebrate their new year. It is the Year of the Dog this year and we watched the story of how each animal got its Year named after them. We also made some Tangram Dogs using 2D shapes.

Year 6 have started working with Geoff Readman, who works with the RSA. We took apart chapter seven in After Tomorrow (class text) and developed the role of the characters in different elements of the chapter. Our main focus was to explore the role of the soldiers.
