We have had a busy week in Year 1. On Monday, Jangle the elf rewarded us for our beautifully written letters to Santa. He placed a gold coin in our empty water bottles… What a surprise! Later that morning we joined EYFS and Year 2 to watch the magic of Flip the Clown. We enjoyed the show and some of us helped with the performance. We have some budding magicians in KS1!
It was also really funny when our teachers were squirted with water.
We then had a magical visitor…Santa! We were surprised to see him because he must be very busy! He kindly gave us gifts…Thank you Santa!
Following lunch we had our Year 1 Christmas party. Dressed in our party clothes we danced, sang songs, played, read in our comfy book corner and drew lovely Christmas pictures. We also shared some delicious food and drink.
During the week we completed our calendars. We thoroughly enjoyed posing for our ‘season’ pictures.
Thursday was Performance day. We dressed as sheep and sang beautifully during the nativity play – A Magical Christmas Journey. Many of our relatives came to watch and they gave us a huge round of applause at the end.
Jangle left us for the last time today. His parting gift was a DVD which we enjoyed during the afternoon. We’ll miss you Jangle!
It has been a fun-filled week and we now look forward to our Christmas break.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
