Escher Inspired Tessallation

Our artist of the term is M.C.Escher and we have been trying to recreate some of his tessallation artworks.

We used a technique called “Nibble and Add on” to create our template, before imagining what our newly created shape could be. (Can you spot the mouse, the piranha and the dinosaur?)  It was a real challenge to make a template that “worked”.

We then used our learning about contrasting and harmonious colours to choose how we coloured in. What do you think?
