We Are Builders!

Hello Everyone,

This week year one are dressing up a builders as they progress with their ‘Buildings’ topic.

We have been

• building using canes and masking tape as materials. This made us use our problem solving skills, our speaking and listening skills and our skills in working co-operatively to jointly achieve an end goal.
• role-playing at being architects, we started by drawing plans of our bedrooms (it’s a bit soon for dream homes yet!) onto graph paper. For this we had to think about scale and the placement of furniture ion the room and the position of doors and windows.

It was a busy day and by 2.50pm this afternoon I had been asked several times “are we going home soon?”.
