Canal trip for the opening of Whitehouse wharf

Today we had the best morning, we walked up to Whitehouse Wharf and saw some canal boats.

There were some tables there and some keen boaters that had model canal boats powered by remote control.

When they saw how excited we were they put some on the canal for us and showed us how they worked.

Then in we got onto our canal boat for our trip up the canal. We had to go down the steps backwards and be really careful.

We travelled up the canal towards Edgbaston. On the way we saw a baby heron. It flew from one side of the canal to the other. It was fascinating.

Our canal turned around in the ‘winding circle’. We went back to where we started and then met Andy Street on the canal for the official opening. He used some scissors to cut the ribbon and show the official sign for Whitehouse Wharf. It was so much fun 🤗
