WW1 workshop
This morning, we had the incredible opportunity to meet Arthur, a soldier from the First World War.
We learned about white feathers and conscription; suffragettes and votes for women. Some of us went through a medical test to see if we were fit enough to be soldiers:
Next we learned to do a military salute:
And the drill sergeant taught us about life in the trenches. We can’t decided which was worse, the rats or the toilets. What do you think?
We had fun this morning and learned a lot. It has given us a great deal to think about at this time of remembrance.
