DT – refugee shelter prototypes – freestanding structures

After exploring how to join paper to create freestanding structures, Year 6 set about realising their prototype shelters.

They used flaps, folds and joins to create stable structures.  

As they were just exploring prototype designs, they used masking tape to secure the pieces.  Finally, they wrote a brief explanation of their design and how it matched the brief.
