Printing Skills – getting the tile ready
Last week, we used our observational skills to draw an island with as much detail as possible. But this week, we were asked to do something completely different – to draw the simplest version of it we could! We had to turn our sketches into designs for a press-print tile. It was tricky to then press our design into the polystyrene tile without making a hole in it…concentration was needed.
We had to keep lifting our tile up to check that we had pressed hard enough, but not too hard!
In our next art lesson, we will be applying the printing ink to create a repeated print image – inspired by Andy Warhol. Watch this space.
