Proportional Faces – Frida Khalo Artist of the Term

Today, we practised drawing perfectly proportioned faces in preparation for some self-portrait work we will be doing next week. We learned that the eyes are approximately halfway down the head shape and then the tip of the nose and lips are placed at thirds in the bottom half of the face.   We managed quite well – what do you think?

 

We will be inspired by Frida Khalo’s self portraits next week as we progress our work further.
