Y6 Art – continued – making the transfer prints

After we created our repeated self-identity patterns, we used two methods of transfer printing to apply our design to fabric: inkjet printer transfer paper and transfer medium.

We had our designs printed onto the transfer paper, carefully peeled off the backing,  then Miss Brewster ironed them onto our calico sampler. Watch those fingers!

  

Our next step was to apply transfer medium to another copied version of our design; we then pressed this down onto our sampler for two minutes until there were no air bubbles left. We have to wait 48hrs for the medium to work its magic, then we will soak off the paper and see what is left behind 🤞🏻
