DT in Year 6 – Exploring Cams

After exploring cam mechanisms in existing toys, Year 6 had a go at creating our own cam and follower experiments.  We worked in pairs and used corrugated cardboard, paper fasteners and lollipop sticks.

The next part of our process was to design our own.  The design brief was: create a moving toy; it must be based on the theme of myths and legends; it must use at least one cam and follower combination.
