KES orchestra concert

Years 3 and 6 partnered up this afternoon to walk to the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre at King Edwards and watch a lunchtime concert.

The first piece was a Nonet (a piece for 9 players) by Louis Spohr.

There were 4 stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass).

And 5 wind instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn)

Next, the orchestra played.

We enjoyed seeing and hearing all the strings playing pizzicato (plucking the strings).

It was interesting to read about the performers and the music in the programme and we even got a special Q&A with the musicians at the end. Which was your favourite instrument? And piece?
