Year 4 – texturing salt dough in Art

This afternoon, Y4 had a lot of fun texturing salt dough! To prepare for this, the children spent the afternoon last week exploring textures around forest school. They identified different texture types and used the process of rubbing to evidence the textures they found. Leaves, tree bark, wooden posts and mud were used. Today, they shaped a tile out of salt dough and used tools to create texture that matched their favourite rubbing. They thrived during this lesson and thoroughly enjoyed the process!
